ALFREDO ARCINIAGA ABOUT THE ARTIST Alfredo Arciniaga was born in El Paso, Texas. He moved to California with his family while still a small child. He resided in Laguna Beach for many years participating in both the annual Festival of Arts and the Sawdust Festival. He presently lives in a small town by the name of Halcyon (Population 80) in Central California. Alfredo is principally a self-taught artist and has been successful as a plein air painter, print maker, watercolorist and my dad for more than 34 years. Alfredo is also involved in "S.L.O.P.E." (San Luis Outdoor Painters Enterprise)". S.L.O.P.E. is a group of professional artists committed to preserving plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life found in San Luis Obispo County. The organization creates art works which are used to draw public attention to endangered natural lands. They work in cooperation with local and natural conservation groups to raise funds to protect San Luis Obispo County's natural scenery. Several of Alfredo's art pieces are inspired by what he refers to as the unspoiled beauty of the "Central California Kingdom".

ALISA ARCINIAGA GRINER ABOUT THE DAUGHTER Alisa Arciniaga Griner was born in Anaheim, California. She is Alfredo's youngest child. Growing up, Alisa says she always thought her father was a very famous artist. It wasn't until she was older that she realized it was her goal to make him famous. As a child, Alfredo used Alisa as a subject in several of his artworks. He painted mostly potraits in the beginning and still life. His favorite subjects were children and seniors and he painted them with haunting beauty. Alisa enjoyed a successful career in the real estate and mortgage banking industry for more than 16 years. She married Dr. Eliot S. Griner, a successful Los Angeles chiropractor in 1992. Alisa retired from the working world in 1997 when her daughter Aarica Marie was born. Alisa's current projects include, promoting her father's artworks, writing a screenplay, writing a children's book, scrapbooking and being a full time stay at home mom.
